People wanting to do more on their vacations
We built VolunteerTourism.com for travelers who want their vacations to give something back — not just take a break, but leave a place better than they found it. We do that by connecting people directly with community-driven projects and the local partners who make them possible.
The premise is simple: we work with communities and partner with them so that local resorts, restaurants, and businesses give discounts to volunteers doing projects in their communities. Service and tourism support each other instead of competing.
Bocas del Toro, Panama
Our flagship destination is The Panama Project, the flagship initiative of the 7 Seas Initiative. It's a living laboratory proving that reef restoration, reforestation, clean water, and community health outreach can all advance together — and that the model can be replicated anywhere.
A growing network, built to replicate
From ocean and reef conservation to reforestation, watershed protection, circular economy, and community aid, our partner network spans more than 25 organizations — most connected through Rotary clubs and Rotary's Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG). Every project is measured against Rotary's 4-7-8-17 framework: the Four-Way Test, the 7 Areas of Focus, the 8 Pillars of Positive Peace, and the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
